EBSCO Seminar at M. Narikbayev University KAZGUU Library 16.03.2023
Dear university instructors and students!
Please be informed on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11:00am at Library eResources Hall an information and methodological seminar on working with EBSCO electronic resources will be held.
The following EBSCO electronic resources are available to university instructors and students:
- Business Source Complete is a thematic database of scientific journals, monographs, collections of conferences, government documents, analytical reports, financial reviews and videos in the field of economics, business, management, finance, accounting, innovative entrepreneurship
- eBooks Business Subscription Collection – a full-text collection of electronic books in the field of economics, business, management, marketing, law, etc.During the seminar participants will be able to get acquainted with these resources in detail, as well as learn how they can be used in research and educational activities, in preparation for seminars, workshops and for writing scientific projects.
The seminar includes two parts: the first part is devoted to an overview of electronic resources and methods of working with them.
During the second part EBSCO platforms, methods of searching scientific information and working with it will be demonstrated. In particular, during the practical part of the seminar participants will learn:
- how to write a search query to get the most accurate search results
- what limiters and expanders user can use when working with resources
- how to upload, send, quote, export found material
- how to compose a search query using a thematic rubricator
- why you need a personal account on the platform
- features of e-books
