To visit the Public To visit the Public Library and reading rooms, registration is required. Registration is carried out on the spot upon arrival with an identity document.
The library’s resources can only be used on the territory of the Public Library and reading rooms without the right to take books home.

All first-year students automatically registered in library. To obtain the electronic library card you should send a request with your full name to the email abonement@kazguu.kz.

Follow the link to the “Electronic catalogue” (EC) on the library website. In the Electronic catalogue, log in by entering the Surname as in the identity card and the number of the electronic library card. Find the required books in the EC and click “Select for order”. To complete the order, go to your Personal Account by following the link to “Selected books” and click “Order”. Follow to the “Electronic catalogue” (EC) on the library website (at the top, on the left).

Log in by clicking “Enter” (at the top, on the right). Find the required book in the Electronic catalogue. If there is a digitized copy, the bibliographic description will contain a link – Electronic document. Type: PDF. The size. (video) – duration 2 min. 24 sec.

The link to the EC is located on the library website (in the mobile version – in the menu). Firstly, you need to select the Database (DB) to the search (books, articles, dissertations or KAZGUU faculty writings) and the type of search (simple, extended, through dictionaries, end-to-end). After selecting the type of search, you can see the search window. EC reveals printed, audiovisual and electronic documents content of the library fund. As well as EC reflects the content of books and other sources, adds additional descriptions with annotations, keywords, information about publisher, geographical objects, personalities, years of publication, ISBN numbers, etc.). It is also important that the address of the book is reflected in the EC. Readers can work with the EC at any time and anywhere convenient for them from the library website (graphic instruction).

The abbreviations (ЧЗ, АБ, НЗ, ЗПИ) indicates where the publication is stored, and the number next to it is a number of copies:

АБ is the Circulation (0 floor)

ЧЗ is the main Reading hall

ЧЗН is the Reading hall of the prof. M.S.Narikbayev‘s private library

РФ is the Rare books hall

ЗПИ is the Hall of periodical publications

МЗ is the e-Resources hall

НЗ is the Science literature hall

Pay the fine according to the Cost of services Register and return the book. The current register is available in the “Online payment” section on the library website

View the Electronic catalogue on the library website

You must come to the Circulation and get confirmation that the book is lost and then get information about the cost of the book in the Department of funds completing and processing.

There are three options:

1) purchase exactly the same book,

2) pay a fine in tenfold the cost of the book,

3) bring a new book of a last edition on a similar subject for replacement after relevance confirmation in the Department of funds completing and processing.

At the reception desk of the library, or on the library website – in the Open Room menu – through the VK social network account.

If you have an electronic library card number (see “How to get an electronic library card number?”), go to the library website, click on the link “Electronic catalogue”, and log in by the Surname as in the identity card and the number of the electronic library card, after that on the left “Personal account” block go to the link “Issued books”.
